Our winter storm has hit us hard. They are predicting up to 8 INCHES! Therefore I have no choice but to play with makeup of course!
Today I will be talking about a few more E.L.F. products, rounding out this brand topic for now.
I purchased two Molten Liquid Eye Shadows in Rose Gold and Liquid Gold. It sells on the E.L.F. website for $4 and they describe them as … “Wash this hydrating liquid eyeshadow over lids for a vibrant, metallic look (and an irresistible cooling effect). The formula is infused with Purified Water and Vitamin E to help hydrate.” (head to my Instagram to see some more pictures of my looks!) The product comes in what looks like a lip gloss tube. It even has a lip gloss soft applicator like one. It applies wet (obviously) but does dry down. I tried this several ways, part of a halo eye, liner, an all over lid color, and I added it to the center of my lips to give a different glittery lip effect. It comes out of the tube super bright (little scary) but promising. When I used this as a halo eye I had to add the darker colors at the edges of my eyes again after it dried because the product DID transfer a bit. Once dry it didn’t move AS MUCH but in a good way. It was easy to blend into the other colors especially the crease (which made me think of trying it on the lips) It didn’t feel heavy. As a liner, I had to pack it on a bit which surprised me because of how well it applied to my lips but in the end I DID get the payoff I was looking for. Lastly I attempted a lip look with this just in the center to give a glam look (used the Rose Gold paired with a more pinky nude lip color and it did an ok job blending but again transferred. I think if I had just a sealer on top then a gloss I might have had more success. I just felt like I was eating glitter most of the time. (which I kind of was) I actually really liked this product I wish they would have had the silver and the darker colors in store at the time. I would love to try out a few more. I think they could be really fun to create with.
The Lip Exfoliator I purchased was in the flavor Mint and sells on their site for $3 and they say “Gently exfoliate lips to remove dry, chapped skin with our Lip Exfoliator! A sweet sugar and smoothing sensation, infused with Vitamin E, Shea Butter, Avocado, Grape and Jojoba Oils to nourish and protect. This Lip Exfoliator treats and smooths lips for a conditioned and revitalized feel.” I have used their old one in the past and liked it a lot at the time but wow this one is so much better! I love the flavor of the mint. It looks like a lipstick, and applies as such. The sugar in this version is so much better, it isn’t as chunky as the old one but still does a good job and my lips don’t feel dry or rough after thanks to the Shea Butter and oils they put into it. The sugar just gradually breaks down which is nice. I know other lip exfoliators that use other substances that if you get it in your mouth is just gross and I always feel like I need to gargle to get all the beads or whatever it uses out. I actually use this twice a day now (planning on purchasing a second one for my beauty desk and my bathroom) once in the morning and once at night because of it being so dry and winter-y that my lips really need the help. My lips are definitely thanking E.L.F. right now!
Finally just as I was walking away from E.L.F.’s new Display I spotted their new Kiss It Goodbye Lip Color Remover which I thought with all the lip products I have acquired would be smart to try out too! It sells on their site for $3 and they say “This clear, oil-based formula conditions while gently removing long-lasting lip color. Lip stains and long-lasting lip colors have met their match! Infused with Safflower Oil, Jojoba Oil, and Aloe, this product helps to soothe, hydrate, and replenish lips while breaking down color.” I tried this on a few different colors. Everything from a true bright red to nude and WOW I again was super impressed by E.L.F.. The brighter colors did take a second round to get EVERYTHING off my lips but I really can’t complain. It comes in a squeeze tube and feels oily as they describe but for the most part with one swipe pretty much all the color came right off. I just wish they made this in a bigger tube!
