Products I regret from the Drug Store

Hi guys! Hope all is well for everyone in the Spring season!

Today I want to share some products that I purchased and even liked for a while that for one reason or another went sour for me, therefore I wish I hadn’t spend my hard earned money on them in the first place. That’s what I am here for though, to shed light on products that work or don’t work for me and why so you can make a better decision for yourself. Now I know everyone does this but I HAVE to throw in that fun disclaimer that just because these products didn’t exactly work out for me doesn’t mean they won’t work for you. Everyone has different skin types and that’s why there are SO many products, brands and choices for us all. Now with that being said, let’s get started…

  1. Katy Kat Covergirl Mascara-Black
When I purchased this I did so because of the wand. It looks like a standard wand but dense which normally means it is going to grab all of your lashes really well and coat them evenly. It claims to coat all of your lashes evenly, be extremely black and not flake, but last all day long. I think the wand was fine, it did a good job of getting all of my lashes on top. I had a bit of trouble with my bottom lashes it just took some work, it seemed to grab some and not others, weird. The color was ok, not the blackest mascara ever but not the worst either. Where I had the biggest issue was this stuff burnt my eyes. No, not just a reaction but burning! Then where my lashes meet my lid swelled up got super black and blue. It was just awful. Skip this one especially if your eyes have any sort of sensitivity.
  2. Loreal Voluminous Butterfly Sculpt Mascara-Black
This mascara starts off AMAZING! I love the wand. It applies really well. It is nice and black, and it didn’t irritate my eyes. I loved it because it got so close to my waterline so i could skip out on tightlining! Here’s my experience… I used this stuff non-stop for at least a month if not more and found a couple other products to try and when I applied them I noticed my lashes were shorter than they used to be. This was the ONLY thing that was different. I mean there was a HUGE difference in length like half. (not exaggerating) I wanted to make sure that this was the actual product that caused this that I only used other products for the next two weeks and thank goodness my lashes started to grow back significantly. I’m not sure what is in here but be forewarned!

  3. Physicians Formula Powder Palette Mineral Glow Pearls
Super long name but basically this is a super pretty looking highlight from Physician’s Formula. I LOVE the color of this. I think it is super pretty for medium to light skin tones or anyone for inner corner highlight or just a more creative eye look. This stuff is way too GLITTERY for me. I have some milia on the outer portions of my cheeks and this highlight just emphasizes that like crazy, now if you LOVE the glitter highlights this stuff is for you. You can use it alone or layer it for a super strobe effect. For me I prefer more of a natural glow to the glitter.
  4. Loreal Pro Glow Foundation
For a VERY long time I really enjoyed this foundation. It’s medium coverage and initially super hydrating for dry skin. Not good for oily skin at all. The light bulb never really came on until recently. EVERY TIME I used this foundation I broke out. I didn’t break out as in a sensitivity to this stuff, I broke out with clogged pores. My chin area would get deep pimples and my pores on my nose would house my blackheads deeper which makes it even harder to clean out even with an awesome exfoliator.
Thanks for reading! Hope you all found this somewhat helpful. What’s your most disappointing product from the drug store? Leave it in the comments below!
